Photo Storage and Security

Buildcam takes the security of your photos and other data very seriously, and we design our systems accordingly. We’ve invested significantly in creating an ecosystem that stores content according to strict security standards, while at the same time granting easy access to that content by those who are authorised.

All Buildcam images are stored on highly secure Amazon servers, stored passwords are salted and hashed, photos are fully encrypted during secure transfer, photo sharing links are session-limited. All of these factors work together to create watertight security for your photos.

At the conclusion of your project, the Buildcam team can forward all your photos to your choice of cloud storage (e.g. Dropbox or Google Drive).

No, we don’t offer professional installation services, but given a good installation location even non-construction personnel can set up Buildcam quickly and painlessly.

Buildcam set up is fast and easy, even for non-construction personnel. When it’s time to install your system, we’ll have a Customer Success Agent on standby, ready to take your call if you require assistance.

You can mount your Buildcam to a pole or wall, using the included mounting bracket and hose clamps.

Where possible, point the camera north (to avoid the sun shining into the lens) and mount Buildcam in a spot that will keep the whole building in shot even as it grows.

The solar panel should be mounted facing south and at a 45 degree angle. Check that it won’t be in shade at any time of the day or with changing seasons.

If you would like to discuss the mounting location for your specific project, our team is happy to assist.

Buildcam will continue to shoot and upload photos for up to a week on full battery charge, so if you have a few cloudy days and the solar panel is getting little sunlight, that’s no problem.
